Reasons For Gathering
The idea begins to trickle in, its essence pools between the eyes, creases of the forehead evening out with clarity and a growing inner smile - inspired to gather beings and to untether them from the too familiar.
This is the thing I love to do - gather people. I am seeing now that I have a deep rooted affinity for (at times what feels like a responsibility) to share the beauty we can encounter in our daily living, when we call ourselves to presence. Most importantly, how interacting with the products of Nature, reveals the intrinsic shapes we live by.
In the instances of these aforementioned gatherings, see here about the shape of things:
rectangles - centred around books; whole chunks of a person’s life in both linear and irrational time, laid out just so onto sheets and sheets of rectangular paper. Whether the book is about the author’s life or fictionalised, it is a reflection of a chunk of actual life given. Reason to celebrate; not only the completion and publishing of an entire book, but most certainly the kind of person capable of such an adventure, as well as the magnificence stimulated in the mind through the act of reading. Eight years ago I was in the business of book gatherings, and now at every theme of gathering I host, there is always at least one book present.
circles - weaving garlands and wreaths from flowers and foliage, because delicately handling plants draws our attention to their brilliance. Placing a flower crown upon one’s head energetically calls in an inner monarch and for a moment we are exalted.
molecular - plant essences and the mysterious nature of scent, along with the way we use them in food for the texturally pleasurable experience of taste. During these gatherings we un-layer the nature of botanical raw materials, navigating mazes along with our senses. These natural materials are characterised by the hexagons, lines and y shapes of chemistry. We enter a conversation between this chemistry and our own, delving into what lies beneath the functionality of our daily communications. These scent journeys are also gatherings that call in memories and emotions filed in the mind throughout our lives, by the limbic brain, through the olfactory nerve.
stars - and other shapes we place the body in, to explore the possibilities of health and wellbeing. Practicing utter awareness as we move with the five limbs of the body, each pose signalling to the intelligence encoded in our human design, initiating union and harmony. This is yoga - a gathering of senses, minds, bodies and souls.
Perhaps I will meet you at one of these gatherings. Otherwise here, we commune in appreciation over the power of organising thoughts into written words and sharing stories as a means to unofficially guide each other along The Way.
At the very least, I hope you find ways to keep gathering all the parts of your own being, each time they feel lead astray.
